Rowing Returns to Wolfeboro

Coaching: Dale Hurley has taught and coached at the school and college level including Wolfeboro, Blair Academy, the Naval Academy, and currently at Phillips Andover.

For beginning and experienced rowers, this optional program provides close instruction, coaching, and guidance from one of rowing’s established mentors, Dale Hurley, Director of Rowing at Phillips Andover.  Be ready for try-outs, a new school, or your local rowing club!

Rowing sessions take place six mornings per week prior to classes, on beautiful Rust Pond. Instruction will include the basics of safety, technique, strength, and etiquette.  Daily objectives will take the beginner incrementally to basic competency and confidence.  The experienced rower will elevate skills, strength and stamina. The program culminates with a simulated race day.

Whether you are a novice or competing for a seat in the varsity boat, this program is perfect for you.

Registration: Submit the Rowing Request Form. Participants are approved by Coach Hurley. Parents and students are invited to directly contact him for details. Rowers will of course need to pass a basic swim test.

Cost: $2,000 - separate from tuition. Rowing is contracted in addition to the general academic, residential, and recreational offerings at Wolfeboro. Space is typically limited to about 8 students.
